Investment Opportunities in:

INTRODUCTION:

Oju mean so many different things to different people. To the casual observer, Oju is just another Local Government in Benue State. To the skeptic, the mention of Oju re-awakens old prejudices. To the discerning mind, Oju is a land undergoing rapid socio-economic transformation. For the prospective investor, Oju is the place to be; the business and investment prospect she offers are simply irresistible.

The question is ‘what makes OJU tick?’

i. The land and people:

Created in 1976 from the defunct Idoma Division, Oju local government is located on the southern part of Benue. She is bordered by Otukpo local government to the north and by Anambra and Cross river states to the south. Her other neighbours are: Vandeikya local government to the east and Okpokwu local government to the west.

The inhabitants are mainly Igede speaking people. There are also Izzis and Ezza-Igbos. The ethnic composition makes the local government an example of harmonious inter-ethnic relations.

The topography is marked by the Andibilla Hills which stretches as far as the Oloko river, and the Uwokwu hills which extend to the udi hills in Anambra state.
